Hi, I’m addicted too vintage.

I am a vintage lover. Vintage clothes, vintage houses, vintage styling all have my heart. When I have the chance to do a themed photoshoot like this one I jump at the chance.

This shoot we did at the historic Elms Hotel and Spa. They have the best spa in the Kansas City metro in my opinion; with its hot tub, dry sauna, steam sauna, and fabulous vintage atmosphere. The lobby is very glamorous. I love that it has a dark worn feel to it. 

The dress we used for this shoot is from my style closet. Since the dress was a 1960’s velvet number, we decided to go with a bit of a mod 60’s feel. Ali’s dress, fur, and bags are all from my vintage collection. But Tori’s dress and green coat are all modern from her closet. The outfits went to great together. I love mixing vintage and modern together. I have to have my vintage flair, but I don’t always want to look like I just stepped out of a time machine.

Editorial sessions at a hotel,  like this one are so fun for branding. Bloggers and other entrepreneurs, branding session in hotels can show off your style in a cool way and is perfect if you don’t have a personal space you want to show off. It’s also great if you are writing about travel or great spots to hit up in your own city. Always check with the hotel first, but most allow photographers. 

HS Senior glamour

A hotel lobby session like this would also be great for a high school senior style session. Depending on the hotel lobby, your wardrobe can be super glam or cute and trendy. Find a hotel that fits your personal style and make sure to ask if they allow photos.
